Prussia Impacted by the Enlightenment and Absolutism

The Enlightenment and Absolutism were adapted and influential/inspirational for the monarchs of Prussia. Frederick the Great of Prussia, specifically spent his reign building up the strength of his army, keeping the culture of the Enlightenment separated from the concept of international politics. That is until the Seven Years' War, Frederick realzied that considering humane policies for his subjects may make the state stronger. Ultimately, Frederick "allowed his subjects to believe as they wished in religious and philosophical matters (616)", futher developed knowlege by strengthening school systems, and lastly making better the legal system, bureaucracy, and government of Prussia.
